A SINGING TEACHER NEEDS:

A GREAT EAR, A KNOWLEDGE OF VOCAL FUNCTION, AN OPEN MIND, MUSICIANSHIP, CURIOSITY AND PASSION, AWARENESS AND A WILLINGNESS TO COLLABORATE.

I  teach  voice.  As  a  performer  and  recording  artist  myself,  I  understand  the  necessity  of  equipping  singers  with  a  range  of  tools  to  suit  a  live  or  recording  environment.  My  own  frustrations  at  finding  a  vocal  coach  whilst  on  tour,  developed  into  a  curiosity  and  passion  to  understand  more  and  help  others.  This  is  why  its  important  for  me  to  combine  vocal  coaching  alongside  my  own  recording  career.  I  work  with  a  wide  range  of  clients,  from  complete  beginners  to  established  artists  looking  to  discover,  develop  and  improve  their  voice.  I  help  people  at  all  stages  of  their  singing  career  to  find  their  voice,  including  aspects  of  their  voice  that  they  haven͛t  yet  explored.  I  combine  technical  coaching  with  confidence  building,  using  psychology  to  help  singers  sing  beyond  what  they͛d  previously  thought  possible  of  their  voice.  I  also  work  with  choirs,  TV  actors,  west  end  performers  and  well  established  recording  artists,  helping  them  to  identify  and  correct  poor  techniques  that  has  limited  their  range  both  on  and  off  stage.  As  a  holistic  voice  coach,  I  specialise  in  vocal  care  and  therapy,  frequently  reprogramming the  fundamentals  of  posture,  breathing  and  vocal  placement  techniques  –  taking  clients  on  a  journey  where  they  understand  their  range,  tonality,  timbre  and  learning  where  they  hold  it  in  their  body  to  expand  their  range,  ability  and  stamina. I am  also  fascinated  not  only  with  the  physiology  of  voice  but  with  the  therapeutic  aspect  of  it.  I͛ve  studied  with  the  British  Academy  of  Sound  Therapy  at  Chichester  University  and  I͛m  also  a  practising  Sound  Therapist/Voice  Practitioner.  I  have  helped  many  clients  to  recover  from  voice  trauma,  throat  blocks,  vocal  fatigue,  laryngospasm  and  have  also  worked  with  children  with  stutters  and  selective  mutism.
